Water Treatment Plant Operator
Summary:
Maintains the operation with the Bargersville Water Treatment Plant and assists in mechanical repairs to supply clean and safe drinking water to the public.
What you’ll do:
· Produce water to maintain a safe level of water throughout the water system
· Test water to ensure water quality meets the limits set by IDEM and EPA
· Adjust chemicals and equipment as needed to meet these requirements
· Monitor the levels of towers and booster pumps
· Maintain proper levels of sand in spiractors and backwash iron filters
· Order chemicals and supplies as needed
· Perform preventative plant maintenance and emergency maintenance
· Record daily readings of flow and test results accurately
· Operate forklift or front loader
· Complete other duties as assigned
What you bring:
· 2+ years of relevant experience and pursue WT1 within 2 years
· Demonstrated ability of reasonable mechanical skills
· Basic knowledge of computers for data entry
· Effective communication skills and fluency in English, verbal and written
· Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence
· Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms
· Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl
· Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, and
· Working near moving mechanical parts
· Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
